GES has had 2 projects funded by Projektrådgivningen (PRNGO) in the past 7 years from 2004-2011.
Project 1 - 2004 to 2005
The first project was a minor project that was implemented from 2004-2005, where GES and Aschiana initiated their partnership. This project was specifically aimed to strengthen Aschiana to enhance the right to self-expression and self-determination for youth through sport. Through this partnership with Aschiana Child Centre a total of 25 trainers were partaking in intensive Educational Sport Programs facilitated by GES. Children in the age 8-15 years old were involved in the sport activities, 600 children had sustained participation in the programme, and at least 2000 children joined the activities throughout the project period.
Project 2 - 2006 to 2010
The second project was initiated in 2006 and has recently ended in December 2010. This project aimed to enhance not only Aschiana's capabilities but also a broad range of civil society organisations such as; SSF, EMDH, TDH, War Child, EMDH, MMCC and many more. Moreover, the Afghan National Olympic Committee has been a major partner in the project in regards to both capacity building and the "education through sport manuals". Finally, the Ministry of Education has been an key partner in the project and has been involved in several key areas of the project.
